Hi Loves! Hi Friday! I just want to hug you. It is definitely my favorite day of the week. I always look forward to the weekend because I just love spending time with my little family. Except this weekend I am excited because I am heading out of town with some family to visit my brother in Seattle. We are leaving the little man with my mom and he is very excited to spend the weekend with his grandparents. My moms house is a kids dream. They live out in country with goats and all kinds of wildlife around their property. Its like a little retreat and Beckett loves it. We just redid our master bedroom so today I want to share with you guys some Simple + Fun Ways To Create A Modern Master Bedroom. Go grab yourself a gigantic cup of coffee and lets chat modern home décor.
In the master bedroom I like to keep things as simple as possible. Simply a bed, two matching nightstands, a dresser, and a good rug. We found our bed on overstock. We got such a good deal on it because they always have great coupons. We went with a modern upholstered wood platform bed. With platform beds you don’t have to worry about a box spring or a bed skirt. I love the modern clean look of a platform bed. Get yourself a pair of matching nightstands. Ours are from World Market. I love World Market for furniture, you really cant beat the prices. I love to mix and match my furniture pieces. I am not really a matching “set” kind of person. There are ways to mix and match to make you furniture pieces look like they go together but aren’t so matchy matchy. Big Rugs are my spirit animal so splurge and get a big one. People always make the mistake of buying rugs that are just to small for the space. I love to rug shop at Target, Overstock, or Rugs USA.
Choose a great statement canvas or tapestry to go over your bed. Adding in textured pillows for the bed always adds much needed texture to a room. I love to keep the comforter neutral and play with fun pillows to make your room stand out. Choose three colors for your bedroom that go well together and stick to those. Creating a color story is great way to make your room look well put together. Adding curtains to any space is always a no brainer. I found these cute ones at Target and they are perfect.
Add some items or shelves with dimension to your walls. I love photos as well but if you have big walls I think the photos kind of get lost. I love to do gallery walls with hats, shelves, and pictures. Mixing that all together really gives you a unique look that makes its appear like it all goes together. Add plants because they are the best. I love pops of green that help bring the outside in.
A fun dresser with modern details is always a win. Add a simple mirror on top to add a pop. Have fun with you room and put together a space that is romantic and relaxing. Making the master bedroom special and pretty makes you want to spend more time in there. Have fun creating a retreat that you and your hubby will enjoy being in.
Thank you all for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed a small glimpse into our home and some fun things we have been working on. I hope everyone has the best weekend. I appreciate all the love you all have shown me this far. Its been so fun to connect with you guys and I am enjoying getting to know you all.
