Hi FRIENDS! I hope everyone is having the best week. Valentines Day is next week. Have you guys got your husbands a gift or planned something special. Valentines Day always stumps me. I never know if I should do something romantic or if I should buy a gift. Since we have had Beckett it is pretty much impossible to have a date night. The last date night we had was probably a year ago. INSANE I know I know. Its so tough and we really do need to start planning these nights more often. Since it is so hard for us to go out because of the baby I have compiled a fun list of 10 At Home Date Night Ideas For Valentines Day. If you are anything like us and have kids you aren’t going anywhere for Valentines Day. I thought about it and I thought why not plan a special date night at home after we put the baby to bed. Sometimes you just have to get creative and plan one at home to keep that spark alive. I am hoping one of these will stand out to you and that you will take the initiative and have a fun night in with your husband.
Have an Indoor Picnic– Lay out a big blanket on the living room floor, light a fire and make yourselves a big beautiful charcuterie plate. I love making these from Trader Joes. Pop open some wine and enjoy
Beer/Wine Tasting– Do a beer tasting. We have a beer tasting set that is great for this. Go grab a bunch of different beers or wines and start tasting. Maybe grab some cheese or snacks to go with it. Chat about your favorites and enjoy
Fondue- Get out that old fondue set that you got for your wedding. I know everyone registered for one of those sets. Go get all the fixings and have a romantic evening eating fondue and drinking wine
Play A Game- Turn off that TV and play a fun game. It can be a classic board game or even a fun card game. My husband and I love Skip-Bo. Let loose and get that competitive energy going
Build a Fort– Channel those kid vibes and build a fort together. Snuggle up in your fort and watch a movie. Don’t forget to bring the snacks, desert, and wine
Make a Romantic Candlelight Dinner- Get all dressed up for your husband and make a special dinner. Light all the candles and wear that sexy dress that has been collecting dust in your closet. You cant go wrong with this idea
Massages- Have a fun spa evening with your husband. Get out the massage oil, light some candles and give each other a nice relaxing rub down
S’mores Night- Light that fireplace and have a romantic evening making s’mores. Pick up the skewers and all the yummy fixings. Get creative with it and make unique combinations. If you don’t have a fireplace grab an electric s’mores maker from Amazon
Learn Each Others Love Language- Have you guys read the book The 5 Love Languages. Print out the online quiz and get in sync with your husband. Talk about your relationship and find out what really makes each other happy. Talk about why that Love Language is most important to you
Paint Night- Get crafty with your husband as if you were at one of those wine and paint places. Buy some paints and a few canvas’. Sip wine, chat and paint. This may not sounds that exciting but it something unique and fun instead of watching TV.
I hope you all found a date night idea to do for Valentines Day from this simple list. It doesn’t have to be hard or extravagant. Just something a little unique to break up the craziness of life and to focus on that one main person in your life. Its so easy to just get stuck in a rut and not do things for your significant other, after all life is just plain BUSY. Try and re enact those fun dates you had back when you first started dating. How does your first Valentines Day compare to this one? Make it that special again. Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by today.
